The Unwin

~From the personal log of Captain Rohana O'Touvelli~

I can't call this a win.

Yes, we found the pirate group responsible for the destruction of the Tsuge, and have since destroyed or aided in apprehending the perpetrators. Yes, we made it possible for the remaining crew to see justice brought upon their heads, but we lost Linnea and several of her compatriots. I don't even have a log of their names with which to honor them, so I did what I thought Linnea would like the best and made a small memorial in the park. That sits right next to our tribute for those lost on the Tsuge. Which sits right next to our dedicated statue to those hurt by the previous crew (and yes, the names and incidents are still trickling in).

Gods, I'm tired. At least we're less than a day out from Starbase 109 and we'll have a few days to relax once the wounded are transferred to Starbase Medical and our few prisoners are tucked away in the base's brig. I'm not looking forward to writing up the official 'sold out by two rogue klingon COs' report, but I guess that's got to happen at some point, too. I hope they string them up by their toes, too.

On a high note, there's two perky Samedi sisters running around now. Annnnnd apparently the new security chief is on base already waiting for the ship to dock. Hopefully this one makes it longer than three days. Four, even, would be something.

We've also received orders to redirect our primary stomping grounds to the Borderlands, which is new.. But I'd welcome that over hanging our asses out in the Delta Quadrant any day. At least then if anything happens, we're close enough to send our crew out to see sick loved ones or holidays home.

What else, what else, what else.. Ptery ate the pulls off the desk drawers in my quarters. Camila laid an egg. Brenan has a birthday coming up. He deserves nothing but socks and maybe some fancy breath mints. Then I'll get him a real gift after he opens that.

Speaking of gifts, I owe Hel booze and Doctor Tuppence a large gift basket full of tea and chocolates. Tate needs one, too, as I heard she had a rough run. Then there's Coreas whom I don't know if he's coming or going because getting answers out of him is a lot like playing Yahtzee with rocks instead of dice. I probably need a decoder ring or something.

Anyhow, I need to stop talking now and get back to the bridge before Stowe thinks he gets to keep the chair..
